THE ULTIMATE BUCKET LIST OF THINGS TO DO IN RHODES
Medieval Town
Many of Rhodes’s tourist attractions can be found within the walls of the Medieval City. You can walk within this picturesque town with the small alleys and the traditional buildings. The main road that crosses the medieval town is called the Street of Knights. It is a very well-preserved street that starts from the Archaeological Museum and ends at the Palace of the Grand Master.
Τhe Valley of the Butterflies
More commonly known as Petaloudes, this place is home to many incredible butterflies from the months of June to August every year. Although you can visit outside these months, don’t get your hopes up on seeing many butterflies. Not to worry, though, It’s also an absolute haven with lush greenery and waterfalls that is totally one of the best things to do in Rhodes if you love a good ramble.
Τhe Monastery of Tsambika
The walk, or should I say hike up to the monastery is certainly worth every breath once you get up there. Yeah, you might be a little sozzled if you do this in the midday heat but I promise you it’s worth it!
Perched atop a cliff, the well preserved Lindos Acropolis is the star of the beautiful medieval village of Lindos. The most stunning sights are on the second level of the Acropolis where the Temple of Athena Lindia and a 20 column covered walkway reside. The ancient archaeological site has magnificent views of the surrounding harbour and coastline and the contrast of ancient ruins against nature are breathtaking.
40km south-east of Rhodes and 10km north of Lindos, Agtathi is another of our favourite beaches in Rhodes. The soft golden sands and shallow turquoise waters are perfect for some beach time and its off the beaten path location makes for a relaxing visit.
