ATHENS FLYING WEEK-TANAGRA INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW RETURNING NEXT MONTH
The Athens Flying Week (AFW) event, the biggest air show in the Balkans with over 500,000 fans worldwide, will return to the Tanagra Airport in September to offer a unique aviation weekend.
The biggest Greek Air Show will also host a display of the Greek Air Force fleet!
Set to take place September 2-3, the show’s fans this year will observe impressive aircraft takeoffs and landings; enjoy air shows; take photos with the participating planes, helicopters and pilots. Fans will also be informed about the various types of aviation training from aviation schools and aeroclubs and also have the chance to take part in aeromodelling demonstrations.
According to the event’s organizers, highlights for the 2023 event will include:
- Solo displays of the French Rafale “Black Seven II” , the Belgian F-16 “Dream Viper”, the Greek F-16 “Zeus” and T-6 “Daedalus” and the Danish “Dannebrog 800”.
- A Tanagra first with the solo display of Saudi Arabia’s Eurofighter Typhoon and the aerobatic show of UAE’s Fursan Al Emarat.
- Five aerobatic shows with aircrafts from Spain, Italy, Switzerland, among other countries.
- A showcase by the Italian WeFly, the only air acrobatics team with pilots with disabilities in the world.
- The return of Italian champion Luca Bertossio with his unique Glider acrobatic show.
AEGEAN, Greece’s flagship carrier, will fly some of its aircrafts over the Tanagra Airport during the Athens Flying Week 2023, while during the same period Greek RC Kavala Acro Team will present an aeromodelling masterclass, and the Hellenic Skydivers will open the show with their characteristic free fall show.
