BLOOD DONATION 2017
Donating blood might be one of the easiest and finest gestures someone can make, which can be lifesaving for somebody else.
With a shortage to active blood donors and an increased blood demand, the necessity for blood donations is very high. Many countries are still dependent either on family or on paid donors to cover their needs, when just by a single blood donation three people who need blood transfusion are being helped.
For us, in the beginning it was only an idea, the need to find a way to express our gratitude, the feeling that we do care about each other and we do want to evolve and become better.
It would have remained just an idea, if the employees of the Mitsis Hotels, the people that after so many years have now become members of the Mitsis family, had not solely supported it.
In September 2017, a blood bank had been created in honour of the founder of Mitsis Hotels, Konstantinos Mitsis, who had passed away one year earlier. The attendance was indeed moving. In each one of our destinations, people with their families gathered in order to donate blood and give someone else another chance at life.
Donation of blood will cost you nothing, is completely safe and takes only a few minutes, but it will save a life. Such a simple action can make the difference.
