HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 8TH ROADS TO RHODES MARATHON
The 8th International Marathon ‘Roads to Rhodes Marathon’ was organized by the EAS SEGAS Dodecanese in cooperation with the South Aegean Region and the Rhodes Marathon NGO, and with the support of the Municipality of Rhodes and D.O.P.A.R.
The marathon race was held on April 30, while a Half marathon, a 10km, a 5km was held in parallel.
As one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, runners saw the island where the famous Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World was standing, along with the medieval Old Town, which has been declared a World Heritage Site. The route traversed the western coastal part of the island and arrived in the city center of Rhodes in a festive atmosphere.
The Rhodes Marathon has the official approval of the Hellenic Athletics Federation SEGAS along with AIMS & IAAF, which ensures the validity and international recognition of the race.
