IN MEMORIAM OF OUR FOUNDER KONSTANTINOS MITSIS

Seven years without his impactful presence, we honour our inspiring founder Konstantinos Mitsis. A self-made entrepreneur from a small village called Kryoneri near Ioannina, Konstantinos Mitsis was distinguished for his hard work, strength, ethos, and dedication, transforming the Greek tourism industry forever, leading it to a new era and worldwide recognition.

 

His remarkable journey began with humble roots, born into a family of modest means. Despite the challenges he faced, Konstantinos Mitsis possessed an unwavering determination to succeed. From a young age, he exhibited an entrepreneurial spirit, leveraging every opportunity that came his way to make a difference.

 

With relentless passion and an unyielding commitment to excellence, Konstantinos Mitsis embarked on his path to revolutionize the tourism landscape. He believed that Greece’s rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural beauty deserved to be shared with the world, and he set out to create a hospitality empire that would showcase the country’s wonders.

Through his visionary leadership, Mitsis Hotels and Resorts came to life, serving as a testament to his unwavering belief in the transformative power of the tourism industry. With each new hotel and resort he established, he crafted a haven of luxury and hospitality, where guests could immerse themselves in the Greek experience while enjoying world-class service.

 

Beyond creating exceptional accommodations, Konstantinos Mitsis sought to instil a deep sense of philoxenia, the Greek concept of extending warm hospitality and welcoming strangers as friends. He understood that true hospitality is more than just providing a comfortable bed and exquisite cuisine—it is about forging genuine connections and leaving a lasting impression on every guest who walks through the doors of his establishments.

 

On August 28, we will share with our guests our founder’s love for life with his favourite dinner, in all the Main and Greek restaurants of our hotels and resorts. This special occasion will not only commemorate the legacy of Konstantinos Mitsis but also allow us to celebrate the values he held dear. Through the flavours and aromas of his beloved dishes, we will pay homage to his spirit and the indelible mark he left on our hearts.

As we continue on our journey, we carry Konstantinos Mitsis’ innovative vision close to our hearts. Today, as we reflect on his profound impact, we express our deep gratitude for the man who reshaped the Greek tourism industry and left an enduring imprint on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
