In the village of Zia, right in the middle between Kos town and Kardamena village, and at the foothills of mount Dikaios, lies one of the island’s most peaceful places. It is open almost the entire day, from 9:00 till 30 minutes after the sunset, offering its visitors a great escape.
Throughout the park, at the best viewpoints, are located binoculars, as the view offered is truly magnificent.
Follow the stone path and meet the animals that are hosted in the park. You will come across turtles and water turtles, turkeys, deers, grouses, rabbits, gooses, ducks, guineas and even peacocks, which are wandering free inside the park. Visitors are even encouraged to feed them!
Local plants and verbs are also in the park’s premises, wild roses, fig trees, pomegranate trees, savory, lavender, louiza, dittany, myrtle, walnut trees and so many more.
At the snack bar, located inside the park, you may also try traditional beverages, like sage, marjoram, spearmint, peppermint and rosemary, and traditional sweets, like sweet tomato, sweet eggplant and Greek yoghurt with honey. At the same time, let your children enjoy their day to the full at the park’s playground.
The path leads you to the top of the park, to a resting area with hammocks, where you may relax, breath the fresh air, grab your book and listen just to the birds around you.
