
MAKING TRADITIONAL SOUMA AT RODOS VILLAGE
On Saturday, 14 September our guests at Mitsis Rodos Village Beach Hotel & Spa became familiar with the traditional making of Souma, participated in the process along with the General Managers and the personnel of the hotel and finally tasted the local product in personalized mini bottles with other traditional delicacies and mezes!
Souma is a traditional drink made from grapes. After the grapes are pressed, their pulps which are called the “tsipoura” are being used to make “souma”. The pulps of the grapes are put into large barrels with sea water,and are left to ferment.
Drinking “souma” equals to drinking Rhodes’s nectar some people say.
