MILLENNIALS ARE RESHAPING GLOBAL TRAVEL
The Millennial Generation, defined as those born from the 1980s to the early 2000s, are more interested than older generations in traveling abroad as much as possible.
They are certainly more demanding and technology and gadgets are their main tool when planning their trips.
Even though they spend less and take shorter vacation than the average consumer, millennial travel habits are “driving innovation that will shape the industry in their image,” says a new study from Allianz Global Assistance USA.
Social media are a great influencer to the Millennials, as they inspire young people to take decisions about their travel destinations. Facebook is one of the main “destinations” for sharing life events and travel related media content. According to a survey from Adweek, 52% of Facebook users said that their friend’s photos inspired them for their travel plans, and make them dream of their next trip, even when they aren’t planning a specific trip.
