Mitsis Group’s ongoing collaboration with WWF Greece for the ‘Adopt a Beach’ Initiative
The ‘Adopt a Beach’ initiative is designed to engage volunteers in active participation to monitor and combat coastal pollution. By adopting a beach, participants commit to regularly cleaning and collecting data on plastic waste found on these shores. This data is crucial for understanding the extent and sources of pollution, ultimately helping to develop strategies for its reduction.
Mitsis Group, in adherence to all relevant protocols, has formed dedicated task forces responsible for diligent monitoring, documentation, and cleaning of our beaches in Crete, Kamena Vourla, Kos, and Rhodes. By actively participating in the ‘Adopt a Beach’ programme, we contribute to the ongoing efforts to combat coastal pollution and protect our precious marine ecosystems.
This initiative is a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme, ‘A story of change,’ underscoring our commitment to fostering environmental sustainability. For our efforts, Mitsis properties received 7 Blue Flags for 13 properties, highlighting the group’s dedication to providing top-notch beach experiences while maintaining high standards of environmental stewardship and safety for guests.
