MOMA’S QUIET MORNINGS MEDITATION

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) is at the top of most NYC tourists’ to-do lists, thanks to its modern installations. On the first Wednesday of every month, MoMa transforms into a pop-up meditation studio with its “Quiet Mornings” events. The museum opens its doors early in the morning for an hour of distraction-free gallery gazing, followed by a 30-minute guided meditation amidst the art.
What better way to start your day than by silently appreciating some world class art?
Quiet Morning sessions are the perfect way to start your day as you are able to enjoy a meditation session in MoMa’s garden and see your favorite works from MoMA’s collection without crowds. During these specially priced early hours, you are encouraged to take time to look slowly, clear your head, and get inspiration for the day and week ahead.
Start your day quietly at The Museum of Modern Art, the first Wednesday of every month.
Meditation is an approach to training the mind, similar to the way that fitness is an approach to training the body. Meditation trainings have been shown to benefit many areas, from creativity and collaboration to greater compassion and well-being. MoMA encourages visitors to refrain from technology during Quiet Mornings, and the confluence of distraction-free art appreciation and early morning zen is a great mid-week refresher.
