Our iconic investment for Mitsis Grand Hotel in Rhodes officially kicks off
The official launch event for the renovation of the historic Mitsis Grand Hotel in Rhodes was held on Friday, October 25, 2024, attended by Minister of Tourism Olga Kefalogianni, Deputy Minister of Development Zoe Rapti, the Governor of South Aegean Region, Giorgos Hatzimarkos, Mayor of Rhodes Alexandros Koliadis, Members of Parliament for the Dodecanese Tsampika Iatridi, Ioannis Pappas, Manos Konsolas, and Vasilis Ypsilantis, and the President of Hellenic Hoteliers Federation Ioannis Hatzis, as well as local officials, journalists, executives of Mitsis Group, and other distinguished guests.
During the event, the landmark €80 million investment was unveiled, marking the Group’s largest development project on the island. This major initiative promises significant benefits for the local community and economy. The project is being carried out in collaboration with the renowned architectural firms WATG and ROAM Interior Design.
Strategically repositioning the hotel in the market by 2026
The comprehensive renovation of the Mitsis Grand Hotel is scheduled to start in the fall of 2024 and is expected to reopen its doors in 2026. This project will transform the hotel into a year-round luxury destination while preserving its historical identity and strengthening its position in the upscale tourism market. The project plans specifically include the following:

• Complete renovation of the hotel’s rooms and suites.
• Construction of private residences for rental and sale.
• Creation of a Food Hall with over 10 venues featuring international and Greek cuisine.
• Development of a luxury shopping centre with various stores.
• Establishment of art spaces in collaboration with international galleries.
• Creation of traditional arts & crafts workshops.
• Sports facilities, including a 1,000 sq. m. gym, tennis, and padel courts.
• Modern wellness facilities, including a 1,000 sq. m. spa.
• Multiple venue & recreational options for social and cultural events.
