Hydra is a small island close to Athens, where cars and other motor vehicles are entirely prohibited, so you may either walk, take a boat or ride a donkey, which is very characteristic of Hydra. Located only one hour away from Athens, Sounio is the perfect getaway option and the ideal place to watch the sunset. The Poseidon’s Temple is a magnificent site on top of a hill, built in the 5th century BC, entirely of white marble, to honor Poseidon, god of the sea.
