Nafplio was the first capital of the newly born Greek state between 1823 and 1834. Hydra
Hydra is a small island close to Athens, where cars and other motor vehicles are entirely prohibited, so you may either walk, take a boat or ride a donkey, which is very characteristic of Hydra. The town is constructed on the slopes of a hill around a port and the beaches are actually small coves with crystal water and green surroundings.
