At Rockefeller Center, the renowned 77-foot-tall Norway spruce is adorned with approximately 45,000 lights strung over a staggering five miles of cable. After almost a century, more than 500,000 people visit the tree every day, stopping along the way to skate on the well-known ice rink in the winter. The first tree was lit back in 1933. The tree lighting event is set for November 29, 2023, the evening of the first Wednesday following Thanksgiving.

From November 30, 2023, until January 21, 2024, intricate light displays created by regional artists adorn Amsterdam’s canals. It’s undoubtedly among the top wintertime attractions in Amsterdam. Every day starting at five o’clock in the afternoon, the gardens and several of the city’s squares will come alive with festive lights for the 2023 holiday season, which runs from November 24 to January 21 of the following year. There are displays honoring the surrounding Amalfi Coast, such as an LED recreation of the night sky, an illuminated zoo, and lights shaped like lemon trees.
