WHY GREECE REMAINS A TOP CHOICE FOR TOURISM IN 2023
Greece is a country of diversity and culture, with a climate to match. So, what better place to visit in summer than the sunny Athens or the islands with the deepest blue waters? It’s not a coincidence that recently the German news network RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland invites Germans to travel to Greece, stressing that it remains a top choice for tourism in 2023. That’s why its tourist season starts earlier this year and the arrivals will set a new record. In an article titled “Run to Greece: The country expects a new travel record in 2023”, RND quotes Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilia, who expects tourism to grow by 20% this year: “If this turns out to be true, in 2023 Greece will clearly surpass the travel record set in 2019 before the coronavirus,” he says. But that’s not the only point.
“It takes a lifetime for someone to discover Greece, but it only takes an instant to fall in love with her”
The most important thing is that Greece is fast becoming known as a year-round destination. It’s not anymore just a sun-drenched location for beachside holidays in the summertime, but it is considered by the northern Europeans and all the others to be exact a unique place in earth that offers also a much-needed dose of sun in the depths of winter. So, the answer to the question, why travel to Greece may take a while but it’s a simple one. You have to come to Greece for its glorious masterpieces of the ancient times, like the beautiful Acropolis in Athens and its stunning museum, the myth-laden Palace of Knossos or the breathtaking medieval Old Town of Rhodes.
You have to visit Greece to enjoy its stunning beaches and natural beauty from Faliraki beach in Rhodes and Elafonisi in Crete to the magnificent rock formations of Meteora and the chestnut forests of Nafpaktos. You have to see its unforgettable sunsets, as the sun slowly creeps down across the Mediterranean, to taste the luscious plates of its unique cuisine and to have fun with the best nightlife scenes in all of Europe that stay open until the sun goes up again! But most of all you have to choose Greece for your next vocation for its lovely people. The Japanese people might be famous for their politeness, but the Greeks are the most hospitable in the whole world.
