Enjoy the gorgeous Spanish architecture, the balmy Balearic island beaches, and the mostly deserted streets. The country celebrates its most important national holiday, Día de la Hispanidad, or Spanish National Day on the 12th of October. There are parades and celebrations throughout the country and historic Spain landmarks to visit, such as Andalucia, Barcelona, Madrid.
Italy is stunning year-round, but it’s even more beautiful when the crowds thin out and the heat persists. From the lush vineyards of Tuscany to the shimmering Amalfi Coast or the green valleys of the Alps, Italy has an array of gorgeous regions, towns and islands where you can take in the stunning scenery and make the most of the autumn season, such as Umbria, Sardinia and Sicily. You can enjoy an opera at the Teatro Massimo, you can live like a local and enjoy some native food at a lively taverna or plan your trip around one of the food festivals, including Funghi Festival and Chocomodica, you can climb Mount Etna, Europe’s largest and most active volcano or you can enjoy sublime sands on Mondello beach.
